  1. Quality Help-l
  2. Perfect 5.0

Guy love. That’s what this movie is about and ultimately is what makes this movie feel very honest. It is without a doubt, very raunchy, crude and juvenile. But if you’re male and had other male friends, this really isn’t too far from how we actually talk and interact. This is that crazy night that you will tell your friends about from now until forever. It’s almost nostalgic in how its told. Kinda like the writers were saying “Remember that night? Crazy right? Man I miss that guy. He was my boy.” You will laugh so hard it hurts but by the end you’ll feel good about it because the movie has heart.

  3. Really Great 4.5

Comedy gold. Great ensemble cast and each person fits their role perfectly.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0

Michael Cera and Jonah Hill are incredibly funny on their own. Their delivery is beyond compare. Cera has the best comedic timing in his dialogue. The pauses, the words he enunciates, everything is funny. Hill is an angry, funny fat guy I can totally relate to. He’s heavy and socially inept, just as I was at that age. I just wish my sense of humor had been there as his is. But no, I had to be fat, uncool and unfunny. These guys make you feel okay for being a geek in highschool.

  5. Female Stars Really Great 4.5

Becca and Jules are great. They very much remind me of the girls I was interested in back in highschool. They aren’t the snobby, clicky, “pretty” girls (though they are both attractive). They are the girls you totally had a chance with. Becca plays drunk very well and her booze induced scene with Cera at the end of the flick is one of the funniest situations. I laughed louder at that point than I did anywhere else.

  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0

Aviva as Nicola was really the only supporting actress. She was hot and somewhat exotic so I guess she worked. Oh, wait, there was Cera’s mom and her downshirt cleavage scene. Hot moms rule, so this gets a perfect.

  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0

Chris Mintz-Plasse is funny, but its more a personality thing. Fogel is that kid that we all knew who’s mom was too nice to him and always told him how special he was so he’s not really aware of the fact that he’s kind of a tool. By the end he’s a badass and you admire him a little bit because half the stuff he does you wouldn’t have the guts to try.

  8. Great 4.0

It is what it is. The director is able to capture the jokes and the performances, so you can’t ask for much more than that. I do like how the movie feels like its older than it actually is. It doesn’t have that polished, slick, new car smell. I think that helps play into the nostalgia as well.

  9. Direction Great 4.0
  10. Play Perfect 5.0

Brilliant. The jokes are hilarious. The conversations (though exaggerated) feel real. The characters have depth. This movie accomplished more than most comedies even attempt.

  11. Music Great 4.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content Help-l
  14. Risqué 2.2

Very raunchy and crude. No heavy sex and no nudity.

  15. Sex Titillating 1.6

You see Becca and Evan in their underwear, but its nothing graphic by any means. The only “sex” scene with Nicola and Fogel is funny and not erotic by any stretch of the imagination.

  16. Violence Gentle 1.0
  17. Rudeness Nasty 4.0

As I said before, if you’re a guy, these conversations probably didn’t phase you. If you’re not a guy, the conversations will catch you off guard as they are pretty raunchy. But there isn’t extra focus brought to it, they’re not just doing it to do it. They are doing it because that’s how young males talk to each other.

  18. Glib 1.6

I don’t believe that cops could do what they did in this movie. Doesn’t seem like they could get away with it, but maybe that’s just me being naive. It also seems like Seth emptied those detergent bottles and filled them with beer awfully quick. That seems like it would have taken a really long time. But that’s just me being nit-picky. Otherwise, very believable movie.

  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.6
  20. Biological Glib 1.6
  21. Physical Glib 1.6
