OK 2.5
An amiable dramedy that’s not very dramatic or funny, this star-studded movie plays like a full employment program for young Hollywood. Singles (especially of the female persuasion) and just-marrieds might find it worth seeking out. For the rest of us, there are worse ways to pass the time on an airplane.

Good 3.0
The poster shows the nine name actors with prominent roles. Wow. From established movie stars (Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Connelly) to up-and-coming movie stars (Justin Long and Bradley Cooper) to HBO stars (Ginnifer Goodwin and Kevin Connolly), the cast is like a Who’s Who. Hell, even old Kris Kristofferson has a small role.
None of them stretch, needless to say. But all are charismatic, so it’s kinda fun seeing them.

OK 2.5
Producer Drew Barrymore effectively turned a self-help book into a successful story-based movie that employed nearly a dozen of her friends. It’s admirable in a Hollywood mover-and-shaker kind of way. Her Barrymore ancestors would be very proud.
The interview outtakes are reminiscent of When Harry Met Sally, but don’t work nearly as well.

Based on a self-help book that was itself inspired by an episode of Sex and the City. So that makes the movie third generation estrogen-driven pop culture. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
