  1. Quality Help-l
  2. Really Great 4.5

I went to the theaters to see this and the entire theater was on the edge of their seats as was I. The plot sounded a little silly and one that has been done one too many times so I was very skeptical of this movie when I saw the trailers. I’m not big on these alien invasion movies. I like E.T. and Fire in the Sky and that’s it. Anyways, I figured what the hell I’ll check it out and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It was like watching a really intense episode of Unsolved Mysteries. From the scene that has “something” scuttling through the cornfields all the way to the end, this movie keeps you on edge and your heart pounding.

  3. Really Great 4.5

The acting is very good all around. Joaquin Phoenix was the only one who really didn’t do much for me. He was trying though and actually nailed it once or twice in the movie. Mel Gibson of course, was great as always. The kids, Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin, were very good as two kids that miss their mother and are put in this terrifying situation.

  4. Male Stars Really Great 4.5
  5. Female Stars Really Great 4.5
  6. Female Costars Really Great 4.5
  7. Male Costars Really Great 4.5
  8. Great 4.0

The film really sucks you in with its story and characters but it also keeps you entertained and interested with its great and at times, shocking imagery and very creepy musical score. I also liked the crop circles that were made for the movie. The only thing I didn’t like about the movie was how the movie would keep going back through flashbacks to the conversation between Mel Gibson and his wife in the movie. It goes back too often and progresses a little further each time they go back to it. It gets really annoying and in the end, the conversation becomes very useful to the family when they’re confronted by the beings which was really hard for me to swallow. Could’ve went without that.

  9. Direction Great 4.0
  10. Play Great 4.0
  11. Music Great 4.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content Help-l
  14. Risqué 1.7

Signs is a movie tht you could let your young child watch and scare the crap out of them. I admit, I jumped once or twice. It’s not a violent movie at all and it has no sex in it which is good. It’s still pretty edgy to me because of how intense it would get. I could feel my heart beating like crazy for lot of the movie, no joke.

  15. Sex Titillating 1.7
  16. Violence Fierce 1.7
  17. Rudeness Salty 1.7
  18. Supernatural 3.1

It’s a story that real people “experience” but it’s still a questionable happening. Maybe a more accurate grading of the reality factor will be made when we have an answer to the question, “Are we alone in the universe?”

  19. Circumstantial Supernatural 3.1
  20. Biological Supernatural 3.1
  21. Physical Supernatural 3.1
