  2. Perfect 5.0

When it was announced in 2005 shortly after the theatrical release of Batman Begins, I knew the Dark Knight was going to be special. I knew it was going to be something unlike anything we had seen before. However, when I first learned of Heath Ledger taking on the role of my favorite villain of all time, I was displeased. I didn’t think Ledger could capture the maniacal yet comedic personality that is The Joker and I was afraid that he would’ve ruined the film. After watching the movie last night, I’ve never felt more wrong in my life. Ledger MADE this movie and what a perfect movie it was. For two and a half hours, you’re heart is racing, tensions are very high, there is not one dull moment in the movie. Great filmaking, great acting, excellent movie. I highly recommend this to anyone, Batman fans or just regular movie goers, none will be disappointed.

  3. Perfect 5.0

The Dark Knight has some of the best acting I have ever seen and not just from Heath Ledger. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent got familiar with the audience, made us “believe in Harvey Dent”, we fall in love with the guy, and then when tragedy strikes and he becomes Two Face, we still in a way side with Eckhart because he touched us all and we can all sympathize with what he’s doing to an extent. Christian Bale definitely another that needs mentioning. While the deep Batman voice got to be a bit much after a while, it still didn’t take away from the movie at all. The best scene in the entire movie to me was the first scene that Bale and Ledger worked together which was Batman interrogating the Joker at GCPD. What a highly emotional and intense scene. We get to see Batman really show us the rage and fury that burns inside of him but despite his efforts, The Jokers masochistic and sick personality doesn’t allow Batman to get the best of him. With every punch from Batman the Joker laughs harder and harder and you almost want to say “Jesus man, just talk, why are you doing this?” That is my favorite Batman and Joker scene ever. Well aside from the Joker’s disappearing pencil trick, lol.

  8. Perfect 5.0

Excellent in every way was the film. Visuals, effects, costumes, props, stunts, and the music that gets your heart racing even more, it’s all here and it’s all fantastic. The movie is approximately 150 minutes and from start to finish it doesn’t allow you to catch your breath but it still tells you the entire story in full with no plot gaps or anything like that. Just one edge of your seat scene to the next. Car chases, to bank robberies, to fight scenes, to shootouts, hell even the scenes full of dialogue and no violence are still some of the most intense scenes out of the movie.

  14. Sordid 2.6

I’ve never seen a more violent Batman film in all my life. While Tim Burton’s Batman had a decent body count, it was still kind of like a kid’s movie in a sense that the movie was fun and all in all, kind of light. The Dark Knight though, IS the darkest Batman film I’ve ever seen. May I suggest not letting the kids see this one cause all in all it’s really a tragic movie. There’s no sex but the violence is nuts, no blood by the gallons or intestines spilling onto the floor but a lot of fights, guns, and explosions really takes Batman movies to a whole new level of violence.

  15. Sex Erotic 2.6
  16. Violence Brutal 2.6
  17. Rudeness Profane 2.6
  18. Surreal 2.1

While what’s put before our eyes is what we know as fake and the odds of some billionaire becoming a superhero to save us all are highly unlikely. There is a very realistic message being sent to us through every character in the movie and that message is “No matter what odds are against you and what consequences you may suffer, ALWAYS stand up for yourself and what you believe is right. Don’t allow yourself to become corrupted because it’s the easy way out. Stand up, fight and while you may not win every time, you know you’ve done what’s right.”

Ah, how could I forget. There were just too many good movies out that year.

Agreed. Let’s not forget Iron Man, also from 2008.

I gotta say, Wick, as far as movies go, I’d say 2008 was the best year for movies since 1994 and movies such as “The Dark Knight”, “Slumdog Millionaire”, “The Wrestler”, and “Milk” prove my point.
