  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

Screenwriter Marc Lawrence (“Two Weeks Notice”, “Miss Congeniality”) also directs for the second time. He focuses on the two lead characters very well and the predictable and formulaic, yet realistic conflict doesn’t deter from the enjoyable pace and tone of the film. Watch entertaining “pop up video” and additional scenes during the ending credits.

  3. Great 4.0

Hugh Grant plays Alex Fletcher, previous co-lead singer of the music group Pop. Drew Barrymore completes the romantic couple as Sophie, a jittery, endearing woman. Alex’s chance for a comeback rests on writing a song by the end of the week. As Sophie works at his apartment as a substitute plant waterer (a bit of a stretch), Alex begins to see the layers underneath this “weird” woman.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0

Please keep making movies Hugh Grant.

  5. Female Stars Great 4.0

    Drew Barrymore wins again.

  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Great 4.0
  8. Very Good 3.5

Great songs that should’ve been nominated for Oscars. Great lighting/cinematography.

  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Very Good 3.5
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Very Good 3.5
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 2.5

Could’ve been a PG easily without Cora’s sexually explicit escapades, but at least filmmakers make an admirable point (basically a slam on sexually explicit Britney Spears-type musicians).

  15. Sex Titillating 2.5
  16. Violence Fierce 2.5
  17. Rudeness Salty 2.5
  18. Natural 1.0

  19. Circumstantial Natural 1.0
  20. Biological Natural 1.0
  21. Physical Natural 1.0
