The $50 First Prize goes to BigDaddyDave's review.  He rated the movie as Great, worthy of four beams.  His commentary focused on the apes as prisoners, using a great Russian author to illustrate the point: "Dostoevsky was referring to human prisons in his quote, but can’t we too judge those who abuse animals?"

 

The $25 runner up prizes go to Izzio and BrianSez.


  • Iz's trademark enthusiasm and talent for quips came through strong: "There WILL be a sequel, and I pray it won’t be called something ridiculous like Return of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes."
  • Brian's Film commentary perceptively noted "Appealing to the boomers and paying homage to their adolescent entertainment is the biggest coup."
