This stands as one of my favorite films of all time. The simple beauty of the dialog, story and characters are a complete package that hits the viewers emotional center and is cathartic to someone with my sensibility, which is one of release through empathetic art (music or film). There are some drawbacks as far as casting (Laura, Joan Cusack) but it doesn't moot the impact of the film or the weight of the dialog.

Batman doesn't spring from the ether as a highly skilled detective with an infallible moral compass. This is the point Christopher Nolan is making with his restart of the previously embarrassing Batman franchise (Batman & Robin). We are given the development of a flawed, spoiled, traumatized and angry – though deeply good – Bruce Wayne and given a believable basis for a character that has permeated popular culture for the better part of 70 years.
