1st Iron Man
2008 Perfect 136 Points

Iron Man may now be one of my favorite super heroes. This movie has a strong story, strong dialogue, and amazing visuals. Watching Robert Downey, Jr. experiment throughout the development of his armor is unforgettable. While taking the necessary time to build the back story necessary to an origin tale like this, Iron Man moves at a good pace, and this is one movie that delivers the goods at all levels. Not many movies can boast this level of solid story telling, amazing visuals, humor, character development, and energy. Iron Man is sure to stand the test of time both as one of the most incr…

1st Lars and the Rea...
2007 Perfect 112 Points

Wonderful movie: LOL funny yet deeply serious. Lars – the manchild played with perfect pitch by Ryan Gosling – has one of the most entertaining breakdowns in cinematic history. His need to cavort around town with an inanimate woman provides the grist for an involving psychiatric adventure, while his community's reactions create frequent hilarious and touching moments.

1st Little Miss Suns...
2006 Perfect 71 Points

A contemporary classic: bracing, funny and ultimately heartwarming. Little Miss Sunshine mines the modern American family – in all its dysfunctional glory – for more than enough laughs to lighten a harshly judgmental movie. The result is something lovable, real and durable, not unlike most families.

This effects-free movie creates movie magic by combining a first-rate ensemble cast with first time writer Michael Arndt's Academy Award winning screenplay.

1st Spider-Man 2
2004 Perfect 4 Points

Peter finds great success in his superhero duties, but can’t seem catch a break (or even a snack), as he rides an emotional roller coaster while trying to balance his personal life, attend college, and make a living. Wait I don’t think Spider-Man has enough challenges…how about a nemesis to battle against? In this episode, Dr. Otto Octavius (a.k.a. Dr. Octopus), well played by Alfred Molina ("Maverick"), fits the bill.

1st Pirates of the C...
2003 Perfect 9 Points

A movie based on a ride should never be this good. The jokes shouldn't work this well. Depp shouldn't have been able to put forth such a solid performance. But it all worked. Every last bit of this movie just…worked. The key, I think, is that it never takes itself too seriously. This movie is fun. Yeah, there is action and love and yadda yadda, but its a fun movie and everyone in it is having a good time. That is where this movie succeeds and the other two fall flat.

1st The Lord of the ...
2003 Perfect 16 Points

Since I've almost ran out of films to review, I decided "Since I'm currently making videos on my top 20 favorite films on Youtube, why not disicuss my all time favorite film on Wik Pik?" And thats exactly what I'm doing, I'm giving praise to my number 1 favorite film of all time. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is a rich, epic, and moving finale to one of the greatest film trilogies of all time. The brilliant writing, rich performances, and beautiful cinematography make this one for the books.

It continues the story of the disbanded fellowship as Frodo and Sam head towards…

1st Identity
2003 Perfect 3 Points

This is the way that thrillers are supposed to be made. With an all star cast, Identity is one of the few thrillers that will have you guessing until the last 2 minutes of the movie. 10 strangers find themselves trapped in a motel in the middle of a storm and when they start getting murdered 1 by 1, the race is on to find the killer. With great performances and a "killer" story (pun intended), this movie is the way it is supposed to be done.

1st The Shawshank Re...
1994 Perfect 93 Points

Ultimate male bonding, pungent dialogue, and charismatic performances make this a classic fairytale for grown men. Tim Robbins' steely, understated banker-behind-bars buddies up with Morgan Freeman's laconic, decent con to form a duo for the ages.

1st The Thing
1982 Great 86 Points

First of all it's a Kurt Russell movie, always a good thing. Secondly, it's tremendously assured, crisply created by a master movie craftsman. Last but not least, it portrays a classic grim-trigger game, where a dozen marooned guys have to kill one comrade after another upon determining that the Thing has taken over a body.

Intense intrigue comes from guessing how many survive the gauntlet. One, two, three, six? None? More than a little gallows humor leavens the toll.

A horror movie that even non-horror fans can appreciate, The Thing probably deserves "the Perfect that Massie a…

1st Star Wars
1977 Really Great 14 Points

The definitive science fiction film and one that revolutionized the art that is film making, George Lucas' masterpiece Star Wars: A New Hope(once merely known as Star Wars) is a visually stunning epice that has broke numerous grounds in film, started a cult following, and has been referenced just about everywhere. Star Wars borrows from the old Flash Gordon serials of the 1950s. Like The Matrix and District 9, it is so original and yet its interesting to see what films it borrowed from or what concepts it takes. Its almost like a sci fi reimagining of Wizard of Oz We have one …
