These email notifications have created quite a stir since their introduction a few weeks ago. Many members have chosen to set their preference to either Trusted or None, so they don’t get alerts from every reviewer. Others, like me, enjoy seeing the flow of ideas and impressions, and are on the lookout for trustworthy reviewers, so have left the preference to All.

We also ran into some problems early on where duplicate alerts were being sent out. So we shut down alerts for a week to fix this. The alert generator has been live again for the past few days and appears to be working well.
