  1. Quality Help-l
  2. Very Good 3.5

A mindless romp through the world of 60’s music and partying, Pirate Radio doesn’t have a complicated plot – instead, it is a perfect film for when you aren’t in the mood to think too much and instead just want to have a good time – which is what most of the cast is doing throughout the film. Enjoy the music, enjoy the escape from thinking too much, and enjoy the silly humor.

  3. Great 4.0

Loved Bill Nighy as the ship’s father figure, and Philip Seymour Hoffman was fun to watch in the most whimsical role I think he’s been in. A quick showing by Emma Thompson is quite the spectacle…The others aren’t as notable, but a great crew.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0
  5. Female Stars Great 4.0
  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Great 4.0
  8. Very Good 3.5

Music, sex, drugs, and silly humor – that’s the formula. Simple and effective.

  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Very Good 3.5
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Very Good 3.5
  13. Content Help-l
  14. Risqué 2.4
  15. Sex Titillating 2.4
  16. Violence Fierce 2.4
  17. Rudeness Salty 2.4
  18. Glib 1.9
  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.9
  20. Biological Glib 1.9
  21. Physical Glib 1.9

I agree. Pirate Radio is definitely the best title. Even the titles from France – Good Morning England – and Italy – I Love Radio Rock – are better than The Boat That Rocked.

Regarding hurwizzle’s Review
I am confused about two things:

1) This movie seems to be called “The Boat That Rocked” everywhere I find it online.

2) “Pirate Radio” is a FAR better title than “The Boat That Rocked,” so why would they choose the latter?

Perfectly pithy.
