   Really Great 4.5

   The trailer for this movie did not do it justice!! After seeing the trailer, I did not want to see this movie. I went out of sheer persuasion from a friend. He told me that he had read about it… that there were a series of books, as well as three Swedish movies that had found success (this is true… “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Girl Who Played with Fire,” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” all three movies revolving around the same character, the main girl, Lisbeth Salander, all Swedish with English subtitles, all produced in the year 2009.) After seeing the English version in theatres last week, I went home and found the Swedish version on Netflix and watched it and it was just as excellent. I plan on watching the two Swedish sequels in the near future, and I hope to see the English followups produced in the coming years.

   The movie was excellent. It was little raw at times… there are a few sex scenes and one pretty brutal rape scene, but the movie itself if great. Its about two and half hours long, but by no means doesn’t seem like it. The story has you focused the entire time. Very clever story, and excellent cinema.

   See this movie!! Well worth the over-priced cost of a movie ticket =)

4. Acting

   Perfect 5.0

   Excellent. James Bond (lol jk, Daniel Craig) was great, as always.

   Rooney Mara (Lisbeth) = breath of fresh air!! I think she’s that chick from The Social Network… anyways, she did a great job playing the alternative role. Look forward to seeing her in the sequels!!

    Really Great 4.5

    Very nicely put together. Context for the story is provided very early on from the very beginning, and from then on, you’re glued to the screen, wanting to figure out the mystery for yourself before they do. No problems following the moderately complex story… no plot gaps… very nice. Even in the Swedish 2009 version, (which I also recommend) it was very easy to follow what was going on. Very nicely put together.

    Wouldn’t bring the kids to this one lol…. definitely an adult movie.

    Lots of drinking, smoking, sex, violence… bad examples

    Two sex scenes I believe… in addition to an oral sex scene and a very brutal rape scene (and then her retaliation on the man, which I guess can be classified as another rape scene in itself…)

    Definitely not for the faint-hearted.

    It’s pretty rough. Definitely action-packed. But it’s necessary, and makes for a great movie.
