  1. Quality
  2. Good 3.0

Definitely a movie to see for the visual aspects, not the storyline or the acting. Keep in mind, however, that I saw the movie in 3-D in theaters, so I can’t honestly say how the visuals are in the non-3D version. It’s one of those movies that, were I lying in a hotel bed flipping through the channels, I would watch until I got tired, then turn it off without any reservations about not seeing the end.

  3. Very Good 3.5

Acting is a loose term, since the movie is entirely CGI, but the voice-acting done was, overall, not as impressive as it could have been. The “acting” done by the CGIed characters reminded me of the acting one sees in a local playhouse rather than how people actually interact in life … it seemed semi-amateur.

  4. Male Stars Very Good 3.5
  5. Female Stars Very Good 3.5
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5
  8. Perfect 5.0

Amazing production quality. The script was a little easy to predict, but the movie was made SO well.

  9. Direction Perfect 5.0
  10. Play Perfect 5.0
  11. Music Perfect 5.0

    Very heroic music.

  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0

    Absolutely stunning, especially in 3-D!

  13. Content
  14. Horrid 4.1

A very gory movie, which caught me off guard though it shouldn’t have. Definitely not a movie for young kids, the CGI characters look as real talking as they do getting ripped apart and shot through the head with an arrow.

  15. Sex Lewd 3.8

Naked CGI Angelina Jolie, naked Beowulf (though not frontal), semi-naked King…

  16. Violence Monstrous 5.0

    Very violent and gory.

  17. Rudeness Nasty 3.6
  18. Fantasy 5.0
  19. Circumstantial Fantasy 5.0
  20. Biological Fantasy 5.0
  21. Physical Fantasy 5.0

Wick

This is a movie that needs to be seen in 3D. Amazingly, here in Silicon Valley it wasn’t available in 3D, even at the Century 21, the biggest theatre in town. Foolishly I assumed that they must be showing it in 3D, only to be disappointed once the show started.

So I saw spears directed out at the audience, and people falling on pointy spires, but it was all flat. So I’m holding off reviewing it because I’m sure it is much better when not flat.
