  1. Quality
  2. Perfect 5.0

I don’t think I could possibly say something bad about this movie. If it had made me cry, it would be the best animated film I’ve ever seen. It’s funny and sweet and uplifting in just about every way.

  3. Perfect 5.0

As far as voice performance goes, you can’t do much better than this. Every single character is perfectly acted. My friend, who is French (and who also has a degree in French) was completely fooled by Janeane Garofalo’s French accent.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0
  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. Perfect 5.0

Crisp, clear, brilliantly rendered sets and characters (That first shot of Paris is breathtaking). The script is funny and snappy, the score is wonderful, the dextrous camera movement never fails to surprise.

  9. Direction Perfect 5.0
  10. Play Perfect 5.0
  11. Music Perfect 5.0
  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0
  13. Content
  14. Risqué 1.6
  15. Sex Innocent 1.5

There’s some kissing, and that’s about it.

  16. Violence Fierce 2.2

Old lady shoots at the rats with a shotgun (it was kinda shocking, actually)

  17. Rudeness Polite 1.0
  18. Surreal 2.6

Ok, so it’s a movie about a rat that becomes a French chef, so it should be way off the scales into fantasy land, but the most amazing thing about the movie to me is how well they convince you that this is actually happening. It never seemed contrived or fantastical.

  19. Circumstantial Supernatural 4.0
  20. Biological Glib 1.5
  21. Physical Surreal 2.4

Regarding Wick’s Review
Yeah, it just didn’t work for me. I agree that Cars was a bit of a disappointment too.

Man, Wik, you were disapointed? This was one of my favorite Pixar films ever and one of my favorite films of 2007. If there was any Pixar movie I didn’t like, it was Cars.
