   OK 2.5

   I thought that the action and visual effects were great, and also the “human interest” (although you can’t really call it human) side-stories added a nice twist to the Hellboy series. However, I think the whole concept of Elves, Knomes, Trolls, Mystical armies did not belong in the same movie as Hellboy and the paranormal crime-fighting crowd. The two types of stories just did not mesh well.
