  2. Great 4.0

I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of this movie. Jamie Foxx plays a cab-driver with a dream that ends up being hijaaked by Tom Cruise who is on an LA murder spree. The movie does a great job getting you comforable with Jamie’s nice-guy nature who charms the cute attorney Jada Pinkett Smith. The movie quickly does a 180 when Cruise takes you and Foxx for a wild ride, and Cruise lets loose with his tough-guy but cool persona which we are all so familiar with in his other movies. Mark Rufio and Peter Berg are recognizable and work well as the detectives on the trail. The movie continues at a brisk pace, including some brutal scenes that managed to startle you as they turned the story around from the direction you thought it was heading in. It finishes with a great crecendo of action and suspense. Defintely worth a viewing!

Many thanks Brian for reminding me about Collateral. I’d seen it when it came out several years ago, pre-WikPik, but had forgotten about it.
