  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

An old-fashioned crime-thriller acted out by the some of the best: Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin, and John Goodman. The movie is a wonderfully executed who-dunnit with suspense that won’t quit. Al shows a cop has vulnerabilities, and Ellen shows hotness and a quick wit. The blend of the two set a standard for natural sexual tension that leads you and them in all kinds of directions. Great movie!

  3. Perfect 5.0

Ah Al Pacino – the ultimate NYC detective. Gruff, drinking, alone and drunk-dialing his ex wife. John Goodman – funny and animated. I wouldn’t have thought that he’d pair up well with Al, but I was proven wrong. And Ellen – she is absolutely steamy but with a hard edge that matched up well to our rough pal Al.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0
  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. Really Great 4.5

Although the movie feels a bit formulaic, Becker and Price use that formula to maximum effect. Just when you think you know what is going on, you realize you don’t. Throw in a perfect casting choice, and you’ve got a winner of a movie. Nothing wrong with a formula that works!
