  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

This is a classic! A movie that could also be done as a play. Focused on the interaction between a gang of criminals who only partially trust each-other. The dialog is the centerpiece, but the sporadic incursions of action, some serious smack talk, and shocking violence (“ear scene” anyone?) is icing on the cake. An ending you won’t soon forget. Oh, and some LOL moments too, like the picking of Mr Pink’s name…. This is a must see movie!

  3. Really Great 4.5

An impressive cast of characters: Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, Chris Penn, and others – all perfectly woven in to a fabric that works together incredibly well. Each and every one of them does a fantastic job.

  4. Male Stars Really Great 4.5
  5. Female Stars Really Great 4.5
  6. Female Costars Really Great 4.5
  7. Male Costars Really Great 4.5
  8. Really Great 4.5

Quentin Tarantino did an amazing job with his directorial debut. It was ballsy to expect a movie to turn out so well with so much emphasis on non-action. Great dialog filed with notable quotes and story, coupled with fantastic scenes – both overtly shocking, as well as subtle and poignant (one of my favorites is Harvey Keitel carefully combing his hair even though he’s all bloody from a shootout).

  9. Direction Really Great 4.5
  10. Play Really Great 4.5
  11. Music Really Great 4.5
  12. Visuals Really Great 4.5
  13. Content

Oh yeah, some draw dropping violence to be sure.

  15. Sex Erotic 3.5
  16. Violence Brutal 3.5
  17. Rudeness Profane 3.5
  18. Surreal 2.7
  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.7

Regarding MetalJunky5000’s Review
Yep, the ear scene certainly is infamous. I remember getting up from my usual seat in the front of the theater and moving to one in the back so I could get away from it. Only time in my movie-going career I’ve done that.
