   Really Great 4.5

   Lots of excitement in this action flick. Perfect summer entertainment, creating just the right amount of action, with a minimum of cheesball lines. It thoroughly kept my interest throughout, even knowing that it was only loosely based on an incident that wasn’t nearly as exciting as portrayed in the movie.

5. Male Stars Very Good 3.5

   Denzel does well in this film, as does Chris Pine, as the young newcomer to the trainyard.

    Good direction helps keep the energy going. You gain a new appreciation for the potential destructive power of trains.

    Nice, crisp pace. Even during the obigatory backstory scenes, there is almost always an element of danger.

13. Music Good 3.0

    Good music with the lone exception of the closing credits. The choice of rap music seemed a bit out of place in context with the rest of the movie’s soundtrack.
