  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

One of the earliest of films to focus on the re-adjustment of servicemen to civilian lives – Best Years gives it two us from 3 angles: Disenchanted well-to-do banker; Working stiff who can’t hold down his job or his marriage; and a poor guy who lost both his hands and mired in self doubt. This was great storytelling all around. Struggling with inadequacies, stresses of life, doing the right thing; making others happy. Although it was set in 1947, the timelessness is remarkable. The biggest difference between then and now? Back then, if you talked ill of our soldiers, you got a knuckle sandwich with no hesitation. Anyway, a great cast, great story, timeless drama and romance. Enjoy.
