  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

A funny movie about responsibility and dealing with the unexpected things life can throw your way. A tad long for a comedy with a few too many side plots, which consequently aren’t given much closure. Another good entry from the Frat Pack, but they’ve done better.

  3. Great 4.0

Seth Rogan is surprisingly capable of carrying a whole film on his own in the lead his first time at the helm. Katherine Heigl showcases her dynamic talents with sometimes drastic shifts from drama to comedy. As usual, Pall Rudd is one of the funniest parts of the film, which unfortunately doesn’t earn him more screentime.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0
  5. Female Stars Great 4.0
  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Great 4.0
  8. Great 4.0

With Heigl’s character working for E!, we see a lot of big names make cameo appearances to add some of the film’s funniest moments. Judd Apatow has tapped a huge pool of talents for his films and is smart enough to diversify between each one. Steve Carrell, who starred in the last Apatwo movie, has only a 30-sec cameo this time around, ironically, as himself, and it works.

  9. Direction Great 4.0
  10. Play Great 4.0
  11. Music Great 4.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Sordid 3.5

The edge would be higher is the movie contained any violence whatsoever. However, the language is an par with other Frat Pack movies and even steps it up a bit with lot of raunchy humor, mostly centered around drugs and sex. There is no explicit sex, in fact the one encounter which the movie is centered around contains no nudity. However, there is a shocking and extremely explicit shot of Heigl’s character giving birth near the end of the film.

  15. Sex Explicit 4.8
  16. Violence Gentle 1.2
  17. Rudeness Nasty 4.4
  18. Glib 1.6

The film strives to be realistic in it’s presentation of events, and perhaps the only thing that detracts from this is how some events and conflicts between characters are inexplicably forgotten, leaving some of the side plots dangling.

  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.6
  20. Biological Glib 1.6
  21. Physical Glib 1.6
