   Good 3.0

   I really wasn’t looking forward to this – a retread of a not so great version 1, but I was pleasantly surprised that the redeux one-upped the original purely by decent writing, over-the-top comedy-cheese from John Lithgow and Will Farrell, hanging-in like a trooper by Mark Wahlberg, and a great bad-grandpa schtick from Mel Gibson. It wasn’t always on, but I had plenty of guilty-pleasure belly laughing. Lovers of this sort of movie will give it a higher rating; for some reason holiday-comedies top out at ‘Good’ for me.
