  1. Quality
  2. Really Great 4.5

Hot Fuzz is a follow up from the guys who did Shaun of the Dead and one of the few movies of its kind to surpass the originals like-ability. The chemistry between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is of course stellar (being that they are partners) and the twist about 2/3 through the movie is a good one. Many of the scenes in the movie are overly “cartoonish” but on purpose. The feel of the film is not only action but also parody as the duo go through most subtle “buddy cop” cliches and even point out they are doing so on many occasions. The film does go on a little long at some points but has enough redeeming value to excuse this.

  3. Great 4.0

Great chemistry between the leads and it is fun to see the supporting cast from Shaun of the Dead in different roles.

  4. Male Stars Great 4.0
  5. Female Stars Great 4.0
  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Great 4.0
  8. Perfect 5.0

The direction fits the movie perfectly with quick cuts, numerous superfluous edits, and fast camera moves.

  9. Direction Perfect 5.0
  10. Play Perfect 5.0
  11. Music Perfect 5.0
  12. Visuals Perfect 5.0
  13. Content
  14. Sordid 3.0

There is a “bad boy” feel to the movie, but is done not as a statement, but as a parody of other films in this genre.

  15. Sex Erotic 3.0
  16. Violence Brutal 3.0
  17. Rudeness Profane 3.0
  18. Surreal 3.0

This is completely Surreal, but in a good way.

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 3.0
  20. Biological Surreal 3.0
  21. Physical Surreal 3.0
