  1. Quality
  2. Perfect 5.0

What with Groundhog day coming up on the calendar and the 15th anniversary edition coming out on DVD I thought it appropiate to review to me this lassic. Bill Murray is somehow “cursed” jouralist who has to live one day of his life over and over until he gets it right. Hind sight is not always 20 20 as we see in this film. We never learn how the curse happens but just accept that it did. It’s one of Bill’s best movies.

  3. Great 4.0

Bill Murray is excellent as a jounalist who is stuck in a place he does not want to be with people he despises. Andie MacDowell makes a perfect co-worker/love interest.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0

Bill is a little predictable but we start out hating him and by the end of the movie he makes us love him.

  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Very Good 3.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5
  8. Very Good 3.5
  9. Direction Great 4.0

The director has given us a pleasant, sometimes funny, sometimes moving movie even if it is easy to guess the message and it’s predictible.

  10. Play Great 4.0
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.3
  15. Sex Innocent 1.2
  16. Violence Gentle 1.2
  17. Rudeness Salty 1.6
  18. Surreal 2.4

A curse that makes someone live the same day over and over. . .

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.4
  20. Biological Surreal 2.4
  21. Physical Surreal 2.4
