1st Rent
2005 Really Great 2 Points

No day but today!
I've seen this musical multiple times on Broadway, once including the original cast. When I read that this was coming to the big screen with almost the entire original cast, I counted the days until it's opening and saw it the day it opened. This story of a group of friends and lovers dealing with life and death situations in 1980s New York is perfect. The music and musical performances are top notch. Since the movie, I have seen the show on Broadway a couple more times, most recently in August 2007 when Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal returned to show. Pure magic on fi…

1st The Little Mermaid
1989 Perfect 2 Points

MY NUMBER TWO!! Another one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. If I were separate my favorite movies into two lists, live action and animated, this movie would be number one on my animated list. The beautiful and bitter-sweet story of a mermaid who longs to be free from the sea and be human. Ariel longs to be human, and after falling in love with Prince Eric, she makes a deal with the devil, in this case Ursula to become human. What follows is a incredibly sweet love story that goes very wrong until Ariels friends step in to save her. This movie brings tears to my eyes every t…

1st The Talented Mr....
1999 Perfect 2 Points

MY NUMBER THREE!!! First off, Matt Damon at his best. Long before the Bourne movies, Matt was already star. This movie is so complex, and so original. I find myself wondering what it would be like to have be in the situation that Tom Ripley was forced into. Matt Damon, Jude Law, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Blanchett turn in award winning performances of this tale of lies and deceit.

1st Titanic
1997 Great 93 Points

MY NUMBER ONE!! This is my all time favorite movie. I saw this while I was in San Francisco on the day it opened, Dec 19, 1997. I remember easily because it's my birthday. I was along on business in San Francisco, and I was so touched by this movie that I found myself crying my eyes out by the end. Surrounded by hundreds of other strangers that were also sobbing. This movie has everything you could want in a movie. Action, drama, disaster and a epic love story.
