This movie is a classic. I rarely like to watch movies over and over again — but I never tire of this one.

1st Halloween
1978 Really Great 32 Points
_100

A classic that remains as powerful and amazing as it was nearly 30 years ago. This low budget masterpiece is what horror was originally all about, and spawned generations of imitations, a remake and 7 sequels that never lived up to the same level. This film has developed a cult following and to this day Michael Myers remains of the scariest film characters of all time.

Set in the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois, the story begins as 6-year-old Michael Myers inexplicably stabs his sister to death on Halloween night and is institutionalized. Fifteen years later, he comes home…

Is there a better crime movie? Other classics such as Godfather 2 equal Goodfellas, but none top it. If you like the genre and are not easily dismayed, this is the ne plus ultra.

1st The Silence Of T...
1991 Perfect 44 Points
_100

Silence of the Lambs set the standard for the psychological crime thriller. As Hanibal, Anthony Hopkins does ‘evil’ like nobody else, and if that wasn’t enough, Jodie Foster and her law enforcement brood need to find and deal with Hanibal’s sick protege. This movie deserved all of the Oscars that it received.

1st Scarface
1983 Really Great 13 Points
_100

Scarface is widely considered by many to be “one of the greatest films in existence.” Personally, I’ve always looked at it as the film where Pacino goes bat sh*t insane. After this, Pacino would portray the manic Tony Montana in just about every role of his that followed. Gone was the brilliant and subtle actor we remembered from films like The Godfather and here was this wide eyed psycho who goes over the top and has this grim gruff to his voice. While I don’t think Scarface holds up as well as some of Pacino’s other films, I can respect the fact that it is indeed one of the definiti…

1st The Warriors
1979 Good 19 Points
_100

A blast to a surreal 70’s past, this movie follows the ‘Warriors’ gang – framed for killing a multi-gang ringleader. A very simple plot to follow, lots of action, outlandish wardrobe, lots of 70’s speak, free-lovin’ women and nostalgic musical diversions which when all put together made it very fun to watch.
