Wick's Review

Created Jan 13, 2008 05:42PM PST • Edited Jan 13, 2008 05:42PM PST

  1. Quality
  2. OK 2.5

Pixar fan though I am, this latest installment was a disappointment. While the story picked up steam towards the end, the movie delivered no laugh-out-loud moments and little insight into the human condition illustrated by the fantastical characters, the hallmarks of great Pixar movies.

  3. OK 2.5

The performances were undistinguished, with the sole exception of Peter O’Toole’s haughty critic Anton Ego.

  4. Male Stars OK 2.5
  5. Female Stars OK 2.5
  6. Female Costars OK 2.5
  7. Male Costars Very Good 3.5

    Peter O’Toole, always good.

  8. Good 3.0
  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Barely OK 2.0
  11. Music Good 3.0
  12. Visuals Great 4.0
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.0
  15. Sex Innocent 1.0
  16. Violence Gentle 1.0
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.0
  18. Supernatural 3.4
  19. Circumstantial Supernatural 3.4
  20. Biological Supernatural 3.4
  21. Physical Supernatural 3.4

Regarding Wick’s Review
Yeah, it just didn’t work for me. I agree that Cars was a bit of a disappointment too.

Man, Wik, you were disapointed? This was one of my favorite Pixar films ever and one of my favorite films of 2007. If there was any Pixar movie I didn’t like, it was Cars.
