  1. Quality
  2. Perfect 5.0

Nothing less than a superb. A creative plot will keep you engaged, and a killer climax will knock you to the floor at the end. I didn’t see it coming, yo won’t see it coming, and when it does you’ll shout, “Wow!” That is, if you haven’t read the book already.

  3. Great 4.0

Great acting, especially from Leonardo DiCaprio. He does a perfect job as a hardened, angry, pained detective suffering from passed traumas. Just amazing. Also, convincing psychiatric patients.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0

    Bravo.

  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Great 4.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. Really Great 4.5

A really great film. Martin Scorsese does a great job composing the dark scenes in the heart of Shutter Island’s mental hospital. It was almost torture in theaters to see Leo walking through dark corridors, just waiting to be attacked by an escaped madman. The dialogue was engaging, the music, amazing, and the visuals, striking.

  9. Direction Perfect 5.0

    Fantastic.

  10. Play Really Great 4.5
  11. Music Perfect 5.0

    Great, frightening, and riveting.

  12. Visuals Really Great 4.5

    Great.

  13. Content
  14. Sordid 3.3

Not an overtly gory film, but savage war violence and graphic images of wounds are seen. In depth discussion of heinous crimes are disturbing.

  15. Sex Titillating 2.5
  16. Violence Savage 4.5
  17. Rudeness Profane 3.0
  18. Surreal 3.0

    Very surreal and dreamlike.

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 3.0
  20. Biological Surreal 3.0
  21. Physical Surreal 3.0

Regarding hurwizzle’s Review
Interesting. It was the reverse for me: liked the movie but not the trailer.

OMG Thank you for posting a review, Wick. I’ve been hearing so many mixed reactions and from what I saw on “At the Movies”, it wasn’t lookin too good but now that I’ve seen your review, this is surely gonna be a great one.
