  1. Quality
  2. Very Good 3.5

Warm hearted and funny, Larry Crowne is another “crowning” achievement from Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. This movie puts a smile on your face and never lets up. Watching “Lance” pick himself off after being let go from his job, go to school, meet new friends and get the support of old ones is just a great all around story. The light-hearted humor is a treat, and the acting is great. Although I’m typically an action and drama addicted movie-goer, Larry Crowne was great entertainment.

  3. Good 3.0

Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks – just what you expect from him: great acting. Julia Roberts is also very good, albeit her character is not quite as believable from time to time. Cedrick the Entertainer is a treat as the enterprising neighbor. George Takei is a hoot as the econ professor. Wilmer Valderamma is very funny as the semi-jealous boyfriend. Bryan Cranston was great in his role as the lazy, drinking, porn-watching husband for Julia.

  4. Male Stars Good 3.0
  5. Female Stars Good 3.0
  6. Female Costars Good 3.0
  7. Male Costars Good 3.0
  8. Very Good 3.5

Larry Crowne reminds me why just having just a heartfelt, family-friendly, and light movie can be just as rewarding as a big-splash action or dramatic film.

  9. Direction Very Good 3.5
  10. Play Very Good 3.5
  11. Music Very Good 3.5
  12. Visuals Very Good 3.5
  13. Content
  14. Tame 1.2
  15. Sex Innocent 1.2
  16. Violence Gentle 1.2
  17. Rudeness Polite 1.2
  18. Glib 1.7
  19. Circumstantial Glib 1.7
  20. Biological Glib 1.7
  21. Physical Glib 1.7
