  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

Chef sets a high bar for this year’s feel-good comedies. Favreau is a great fit for a chef that needs to step it up a notch in the kitchen and with his family. Bolstered by a great supporting cast, you can’t go wrong with this film – either as a date movie or with the kids. Also, prepare to leave hungry as you witness cooking in a delightful variety of places.

  3. Very Good 3.5

This is a well rounded cast. Favreau does a stand-up job, but the film was really made by great performances by John Leguizamo, man-lol-guy Bobby Cannavale, Scarlett Johansson (in the background), Sofia Vergera (a softened version compared to Modern Family), Dustin Hoffman (well, not that convincing as the hard-ass boss), and a predictably hilarious Robert Downey Jr.
