This is a really good reimagining of George A. Romero's 1978 horror classic. It was scary and had viewers on the edge of their seats. What made it scarier then the original was that these zombies were much more menacing because they could run unlike their predecessors who moved much slower.

Big fun on the big screen, if your idea of fun runs to state-of-the-art SciFi fright fests. Worthy of its tremendous buzz, Cloverfield combines a War of the Worlds monster attack with "Blair Witch Project":https://www.viewguide.com/movies/366446-the-blair-witch-project immediacy. Put it this way: your head will bounce along with Lady Liberty's after watching this movie.
I found the herky-jerky images from the hand-held camera only mild annoying, and well worth the experience, but apparently others found this down-right nauseous. In any case, it is much less annoying than with The Blai…

I love Indiana Jones when I first saw it, especially with its boat chases, dog fights, searching through ancient tombs and a Nazi fight against Indiana Jones. In this third installment it has most of my favourite chase scenes. I also love the traps Indy dodges at the tomb where the holy grail.

State-of-the-art big screen adventure, not perfect or even great, but culturally significant and plenty of fun.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull starts off beautifully, naturalistically, drawing you in for the surrealism to come, then sustaining this state of grace until roughly halfway, when the relentless hyper-reality begins to wear. Jonesy movies all arrive at this point sooner or later, when our willingness to suspend disbelief no longer commands the mental energy required to continue doing so.
In fact, this movie's forebears necessitated the invention of the…

Iron Man – a super knight for our ironic age – succeeds wildly because we relate to the oh-so-human hero while laughing at his non-stop comic patter. Marvel mastermind Stan Lee, stylish director Jon Favreau and witty star Robert Downey Jr. deserve hosannas for delivering such a smart and entertaining comik movie. Bring on the sequels!

My favorite film of all time on so many levels…
Of course every year i have a favorite movie of the year but Poltergeist has been at the top ever since i saw it in 82. From the direction (by Spielberg obviously, not Hooper) to the grippling and often touching music of Goldsmith, from the perfect acting to the amazing effects…i can't even count the number of times i've seen it. A classic.

Is there a better crime movie? Other classics such as Godfather 2 equal Goodfellas, but none top it. If you like the genre and are not easily dismayed, this is the ne plus ultra.

This Post-apocalyptic film is the third adaptation of the 1954 science fiction novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. While this movie deviates from the novel quite a bit, it is still entertaining nonetheless. Will Smith does a great job and is very believeable as Robert Neville. There are some slow parts but this helps to build intensity very well. The CGI work used to create a post-apocalyptic New York City is amazingly realistic. However, the CGI work on the creatures leaves much to be desired.

This classic comedy is about the Griswold family's drive across the country to the Walley World theme park and all the unexpected things that happen along the way. Chevy Chase is as funny as he always is and this is a great family film to watch. It's one of those films that can be watched over and over again and still be just as funny as the first time. Any fan of Chevy Chase will really enjoy this film.

America. My theory is that Forrest Gump serves as personification of the early baby boomers, i.e. of the America of that era. Naive, idealistic, rambunctious, Forrest's life functions as allegory for the cultural journey of the generation that came of age during the 60s.
Whether you buy that or not, this wonderfully charming movie – by turns funny and moving – showcases a classic Tom Hanks performance from his mid-90s heyday as The Biggest Movie Star In The World.

Big bangs, high testosterone dialog, semi-witty asides in the face of calamitous situations, Armageddon includes the classic BBB elements. While not the best Bruckheimer-Bay Blockbuster, Armageddon is nonetheless reliable entertainment in the style of the modern Hollywood action movie.

United 93 takes place the day a tragedy occurred, September 11, 2001. It seems like a normal day to everyone. No one has any idea how big of an impact this day will have. At first everything goes as scheduled through the airlines. However, those who monitor the airplanes do become suspicious. They realize that there could be a possible hijacking situation on one of the planes. People are cautioned by this, but it is surprising to them since this hasn’t happened for 40 years. Soon they find out that several of the planes are in fact being hijacked. The workers try to do what they can to fi…

First of all it's a Kurt Russell movie, always a good thing. Secondly, it's tremendously assured, crisply created by a master movie craftsman. Last but not least, it portrays a classic grim-trigger game, where a dozen marooned guys have to kill one comrade after another upon determining that the Thing has taken over a body.
Intense intrigue comes from guessing how many survive the gauntlet. One, two, three, six? None? More than a little gallows humor leavens the toll.
A horror movie that even non-horror fans can appreciate, The Thing probably deserves "the Perfect that Massie a…
